Dr. Ziogas grew up in this area (Bristol), and after finishing her medical training, she worked in both academic and private settings. She valued her affiliations with both the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and Connecticut Children's Medical Center, and was especially grateful for the opportunity to work and learn from her esteemed colleagues at these institutions. As a former teacher, she welcomed the opportunity to participate in medical student and resident education.
In 2002, she decided that what she valued most about the practice of medicine was the relationships she had formed with patients and families, and she took the bold step of opening a small private practice where she could be committed to developing personal relationships and delivering a high quality of care to her patients.
Through the years, Dr. Ziogas has continued to teach medical students and has advocated for children on many levels. She is highly involved in the community, serving on many committees and boards, and advocating for children locally, nationally, and internationally.
In 2017, Dr. Shafia Memon joined Farmington Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine, and became a wonderful addition to the team. Dr. Memon shared an equal love for patient care, and was equally committed to providing a patient centered medical home, with great commitment to patients. In 2020, following the illness of her father, she and her family made the difficult but necessary decision to move closer to her family. In November 2020 she moved to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. We miss her greatly, and are currently in the process of actively recruiting another physician.
The physicians, nurses, and medical assistants of Farmington Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine work together as a team, with the collaborative goal of providing excellence of care, using personalized patient-centered care. We love caring for children!
