ADHD is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders of childhood, and can negatively impact academic achievement, social interactions, and overall well being. It affects 9.2% of children ages 2 to 17, and boys are more than twice as likely than girls to be diagnosed with this disorder.
These children often have difficulty in school, trouble getting along with others at home and school. Impulsivity may place them in danger. Because they have difficulty controlling their behavior, they may be labeled as "bad" kids, and suffer from poor self esteem.
Effective treatment is available. If you suspect that your child has ADHD, FPAM can diagnose ADHD and offer a treatment plan to help your child lead a happy and healthy life. As a parent, you have a very important role in this treatment.
